Ah the first week of the new year, and there is little news, but what news there is, isn't that little. Sorry, been writing fortune cookies on the side.
2008 was another year of great loss for the music world. It gets easy to forget that some of the greatest and most influential music of modern times actually was being composed and performed for the first time over 50 years ago. Just like in Hollywood, some of the best of all time are fading away. Paul Newman and Charlton Heston left us this year. We also noted on our site the passing of George Carlin. I, being the music guy of the bunch, will take this opportunity to let you know of the major music losses of the past year. It's an eclectic group, so I'll go chronologically.
And here I just watched Michael Clark Duncan in The Green Mile last night, and thought that was acting. I can't wait to see his Oscar level performance in this one!
Sadly though, it still has to be better than the VanDamme version.

The Empire Magazine article that accompanies many of those same picture referenced below, has a few tidbits about the film.

The quote from Judge Feess:
"Fox owns a copyright interest consisting of, at the very least, the right to distribute the Watchmen motion picture. The parties may wish to turn their efforts from preparing for trial to negotiating a resolution of this dispute or positioning the case for review."
